 Creative
Cooperative Preschool is a warm and caring environment where children
are encouraged to engage in active, hands-on learning. Developmentally
speaking, we believe that learning happens best when children are
actively involved and having fun! Whether it is planting seeds,
mixing colors, or working on a collaborative project, our preschoolers
are encouraged to use their natural curiosity to explore the world
around them and to have fun.
Walking
into the classroom, it is easy to see that Creative Cooperative
Preschool offers a child-centered learning experience. The classroom
is decorated with the children’s art projects, and the children
are happily engaged in a variety of activities, all the while, developing
independence, social skills, and a love for learning. Although some
of the day is structured—circle time, show-and-tell, crafts,
stories, and other projects—in order to introduce new ideas
and concepts, we also encourage playing and natural learning opportunities.
Children are broken into smaller groups and do different things
with the teacher, on their own, or with the parent helper. They
have access to different activities from building blocks to puzzles
to pretend play, which allows them to use their imagination and
helps develop a foundation for lifelong learning.
We
understand that choosing a preschool is a very personal choice,
and there are certainly many factors to consider when deciding what
is right for your child and your family. For some, the curriculum
is most important, and making sure your child is adequately prepared
to start kindergarten. For others, it is making sure your child
is in a warm, friendly, and safe environment or that he or she has
a very caring, committed, and experienced teacher. At Creative Cooperative
Preschool, we believe that we can offer all of these things and
much more.
We
also believe that, as parents, we have a very important role in
the education of our children – both at home, and at school.
Parental involvement is the cornerstone of a cooperative preschool,
and we find that it benefits both students and parents tremendously.
Our parents have the opportunity to get involved in many ways, from
parent helper days and special occasions (helping with trick-or-treating
and the Halloween party, the Thanksgiving feast, or the Christmas
musical), to fundraising and board membership. Of course, the children
benefit from parents contributing their time and talents, but also
from the sense of community that develops as everyone gets to know
each other over the course of the school year.
While
this concept is not new, it stands apart from so many other preschools
today. Creative Cooperative Preschool was founded in 1978, and has
been serving families in the Tallmadge area for more than 30 years.
As a nonprofit organization, we are owned and operated by the parents
of the children enrolled in our school. We are licensed by the state
of Ohio, inspected annually, and meet all state and local safety
and fire codes.
Creative
Cooperative Preschool is located in Tallmadge, Ohio, at 464 Northeast
Avenue. We rent space from the First Church of God, but are not
affiliated, and maintain an independent operation. We do not discriminate
on the basis of race, religion or national origin. |
